Introduction

This page is an incomplete collection of some amusing stories from when I was a kid. I don't remember the exact year of many of these events.

Bedtime books

When I was young, a parent would read a few children's books to me before bed. I sometimes grabbed a very large collection of books to read from the bookshelf—more than it was possible to actually get through—as a jocular way to point out that I wanted to hear a lot of stories. Sometimes I would put books inside of one another, asking the parent to read them in that order. For example, if there were books A, B, and C, with B put inside A and C put inside B, the parent would read the first part of A, then the first part of B, then all of C, then the second part of B, then the second part of A.

"Abraham"

One day I was hanging out with an adult caretaker. She was into Christianity and hoped that I would take an interest in the Bible. She asked me a question about some Bible topic. I had no clue what the answer was, but I remembered that in school that day we had learned about Abraham Lincoln, so that name was fresh in my mind. I said aloud: "Abraham ...". The caretaker brightened up and said: "Yes, Abraham was an important figure in the Bible!"
